Home Care

It’s rainy again or too hot to go outside and your mom is bored. She wants to put on some movies, so you need some recommendations.

As long as she has a streaming device or TV like Roku, Apple, a Firestick, Chromecast, etc., your mom has an abundance of free movies available. Here are some movies getting great reviews from people across the country.

The Impossible (2012)

This movie has been around for about a decade and is based on true events. Naomi Watts was nominated for a Golden Globe and Oscar for her performance as Doctor Maria Bennett, who was in Thailand with her family when the 2004 Christmas tsunami hit the Indian Ocean and separated them all.

I Think We’re Alone Now (2018)

Game of Thrones’ Peter Dinklage plays a lone survivor of an apocalypse who soon learns there is someone else (Ellie Fanning). He’s been enjoying his reclusive lifestyle and isn’t sure he needs a traveling companion.

The LEGO Movie (2014)

If you have children joining you, The LEGO Movie is a fun animated adventure filmed entirely using LEGO characters, vehicles, and buildings. Emmett is on a mission to stop the bad guy from destroying his world by gluing everything together.

Like Sunday, Like Rain (2014)

The lead singer of Green Day stars in this musical with Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester, a couple who have broken up, leading to Meester needing to find a new job and start a new life. She takes a job as the nanny to a young musical prodigy.

The Man in the Hat (2020)

Ciaran Hines plays a man who comes across a framed photo of an unknown woman, and he’s drawn to finding out who she is. He goes on a cross-country journey across France to find her, but a car full of strangers is a step behind him for reasons he cannot figure out.

My Cousin Vinny (1992)

This comedy led to an Oscar for Marissa Tomei. Ralph Macchio and Mitchell Whitfield are in the wrong place at the wrong time and get accused of a crime they didn’t commit in Alabama. When they can’t afford a lawyer, Gambini (Macchio) calls on his cousin (Joe Pesci) who just passed the bar exam in New York.

Then She Found Me (2007)

Helen Hunt directed and stars in this romantic movie where she’s fresh out of a divorce and her adoptive mother passes away. She’s contacted by her birth mom (Bette Midler) and struggles with the idea of getting to know her.

What About Companionship Services?

When you’re not around, your mom feels lonely and isolated. She no longer drives, which means she doesn’t go out. Instead of forcing her to wait until you’re free, arrange home care services with her.

Her home care aide can put on movies and watch them with her. Arrange home care services to make sure your mom has companionship and help with housekeeping, transportation, meals, and more.
